High Performing Clean Skincare: Maya Chia

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

Maya Chia harnesses the super power of the chia seed, native to the Mayan culture. Founder, Susanne Norwtiz had a lifelong fascination with the Mayan culture, and learned this super seed produced the most omega and was the most nutritionally dense oil in nature. Chia oil has been proven to improve skin barrier function, increase skin hydration, and reduce moisture loss.

Suzanne took it upon herself to research the purest method of extraction in order to ensure the integrity of this precious oil. She knew that keeping the oil as close to the original plant form as possible, would increase its benefits and impending results.

It is the mission of Maya Chia to empower skin using nature's most active botanicals. Each product is packed with active ingredients and masterfully blended to balance the necessary omegas, antioxidants and minerals to deeply nourish the skin.

I tried The Eye Achiever. This sleek roller applicator is packed full of organic and/or wild-harvested oils that your skin will immediately drink in. This expertly crafted blend supports your skin to the fullest, so it can function at it's best.

Results are noticeable within the first three uses! I have hereditary dark circles, and they were less noticeable when I used The Eye Achiever and the start and finish of each day. It also serves as a gentle primer for light eye makeup, but not for a heavy evening look. I loved the gentle, lightweight feel of this serum, and that my eyes responded so quickly and positively to this blend.

Some of my favorite ingredients: astaxanthin, black cumin seed oil, eyebright and rooibos tea. I could list more, but that would mean writing out the entire ingredients list, which is total overkill ;)

I also tried The Super Blend which is a super concentrated 'pressed serum' that packs active botanicals into this moisture-rich balm. Overflowing with antioxidants like astaxanthin, Vitamin C, omegas and polyphenols--and partnered with a healthy dose of CoQ10, wrinkles and general signs of aging don't stand a chance. White babassu and kokum butters boost skin radiance while sealing in moisture.

I love this balm! It has a smooth texture that melts into the skin effortlessly. My skin glows long after application, and my makeup lays better after using this in the morning.

Lately, with all the cold nights we've been having, and my finicky pregnant skin...I have been using this often at night and noticing the benefits of leaving it on my skin longer and unadulterated.

Have you tried anything from Maya Chia? Next on my list is the Waterless Wonder Balm and The Highlight of the Day.

Be Healthy. Live Beautifully.
