English Herbal Folklore + Beauty= MOA

I, like so many other people on the planet, am a huge fan of oil cleansing. It's more efficient at removing makeup, and nourishing to the skin as well.

I was introduced to Magic Organic Apothecary while shopping with one of my favorite online green beauty retailers: The Choosy Chick. Margot chooses carefully what she stocks, so I knew I had to check them out!

MOA is formulated in England, and inspired by old herbal folklore. Their star feature, Yarrow herb (Achillea Millefolium) is in all of their products and chosen for its many healing properties. This skin-soothing herb has been used for centuries to treat many skill ailments, as well as lowering fevers, improving circulation and soothing bruises and swelling. Their packaging is whimsical and I feel really represents their line well.

I tried their original product, a multi-purpose jar of magic: The Green Balm. I chose the Daily Cleansing Ritual set which included the Green Balm and a luxurious Bamboo Cleansing Cloth. The Green Balm continues in the traditional use of yarrow as a healing herb by blending this balm as an oil cleansing alternative. It removes makeup like a boss and left my skin feeling soft, without being greasy. It smells vaguely of fresh parsley--which is the genius combination of yarrow and melaleuca in this formula.

I cleansed by applying The Green Balm to a dry face and massaging into the skin. I ran the Bamboo Cleansing Cloth under warm water and laid over my face to encourage absorption, then again to wipe the remaining balm off. I didn't have the need for a moisturizer afterward, which was nice.

But, that doesn't mean I didn't use one!

I am a creature of habit--aren't we all?!

After cleansing my face with the Green Balm, I applied the MOA Aphrodite Facial Oil to the four points of the face, and massaged into the skin by making circles outward.

The Aphrodite Facial Oil boasts nutrients like Vitamin A and C from rosehips, balancing botanicals of rose, geranium, soothing marshmallow root and, of course, their signature yarrow.

I actually had the chance to put the multi-purpose aspect of the Green Balm to use with one of my sons.

He had fallen a week ago, and was very scraped up. He had a stubborn wound that was taking longer to heal, I applied some of The Green Balm to it before he went to bed, and when he woke up in the morning--it was noticeably better! We did that for three days straight, and the wound is almost completely gone.

I really love the simplicity of Magic Organic Apothecary. Their ingredients are well chosen, keeping their formulations clean and effective. There is beauty in minimalism, and MOA products are definitely beautiful!

Be Healthy. Live Beautifully.
